The University of Basra was included in the "Shanghai" world ranking of universities for the year 2022 and appeared in the 2812 ranking among five Iraqi universities (the University of Baghdad, the Northern Technical University, the University of Babylon, and finally the University of Mosul).
This inclusion came after strenuous and great efforts by the presidency of the University of Basra and the deanships of its faculties to enhance the scientific sobriety of the University of Basra and achieve its most important goals.
It is worth noting that the "Shanghai" classification is one of the most important international classifications and the most reliable in the world university rankings.
