About the Department / Art Education:
The Department of Art Education was established in (2011-2012), and it is a comprehensive general department that includes the disciplines of the departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts. The department has been released until 2021 in four batches 2016-2017/2018-2019/2019- 2020/2020-2021.\

Objectives
The main objectives of the department are defined as follows:
Preparing a teacher of art education in pre-university education stages of all kinds and levels.
Preparing specialists in the implementation and delivery of social development programs and youth care and special groups.
Preparing specialists in the implementation and delivery of aesthetic education programs.
Conducting scientific and field research in arts and education journals.
Conducting scientific and field research in the fields of arts and education.
Preparing training programs for workers in art education magazines at all levels

Vision
The Department of Art Education at the College of Fine Arts - University of Baghdad is one of the unique and distinguished educational departments in graduating male and female teachers of art education, not only in Iraq, but at the level of the entire Arab world.
Over the course of more than 37 years of its educational, scientific and artistic career, the department has gone through various developments, and the department has had a pioneering impact in local conferences and seminars aimed at addressing the problems of teacher numbers in secondary schools, and how to come up with curricula specifically designed to train and prepare art teachers.
The goal of art education that we seek in schools is to educate the individual so that he can live an elegant and aesthetic life in the midst of the developed social framework to which he belongs, and the subject of art is like other subjects.
