
Under the patronage of the president of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Mohannad Jawad Kazim, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Zahra Mohammed, the esteemed. The Department of continuing education at the Faculty of Fine Arts, in cooperation with the Department of Art Education, organized a lecture on the chronology of mural art and its role in the formation of urban art.
The lecture aims to introduce the concept of mural art as one of the classes of plastic art, which has its roots since ancient times, from cave walls through ancient civilizational times, then the Middle Ages and the renaissance of art to the twentieth century and the emergence of urban art, then the modern era and street art.
The lecture, delivered by Hadeel Ayad Makki, included discussing the role of mural art in community impact, what is the motivation it provides to community members, and how murals contribute to the transformation of cities into huge art exhibitions.
