Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad al-Asadi, esteemed president of the University of Basra, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Zahra Mohammed, dean of the College of Fine Arts, the Continuing Education Unit at the College organized a seminar on the characteristics of the thought of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him).
The seminar aimed to demonstrate the influence of Imam Ali's thought on contemporary plastic art.
The seminar presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Sharif Al-saraifi included a presentation of the thought of Imam Ali (as) and its reflections in contemporary plastic art, where we find that the values carried by the imam of justice, wisdom, asceticism and meditation have formed a great source of inspiration for artists in various eras, including modern and contemporary plastic art.
