The College of Fine Arts celebrates the National Afforestation day to promote sustainable development

As part of the implementation of the plan of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra organized the National Afforestation day event, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohannad Jawad al-Asadi, president of the University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Zahra Mohammed, dean of the college.
The event witnessed a wide participation by the dean of the college, accompanied by the administrative assistant, heads of departments, a selection of teachers, staff and students, in addition to a specialized supervisory committee from the Faculty of Agriculture, where a number of sites were allocated within the college to plant trees, in a step reflecting the University's commitment to contribute to the preservation of the environment and promote awareness of the importance of green spaces.
This activity comes as part of the college's efforts to support environmental sustainability by encouraging the planting of trees and plants, which contributes to enhancing the environmental balance, improving air quality, and providing a healthier and more beautiful university environment. This event also reflects the keenness of academic institutions to establish a culture of environmental awareness, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, which seek to achieve a clean and vibrant environment for future generations.
