Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad al-Asadi, president of the University of Basra, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Nasser Samari Jafar, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra, the Continuing Education Unit, organized a seminar entitled The dominance of media over contemporary plastic art.
The seminar aims to shed light on an important phenomenon that began at the beginning of the twentieth century and has been increasing over time, as the media have become an important role in the creation and presentation of contemporary plastic art.
The seminar presented by Dr. Afrah Khairallah included the most important reasons that led to the dominance of the media, including technological development and the ability of art to absorb new and diverse ideas and the constant pursuit of experimentation.
