Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad al-Asadi, president of the University of Basra, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Nasser Samari Jafar, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra, the educational guidance unit, and in cooperation with the Basra governorate Police Command – Weapons Control and Regulation Division, organized a seminar entitled limiting weapons to the state and the risks of proliferation.
The seminar aims to provide a detailed explanation of the issue of registering weapons in the hands of the state, how to register a weapon through the ur portal website, granting permits for the possession of a weapon, with official and fundamentalist approvals by the Ministry of Interior, in addition to raising awareness of the community about the danger of weapons spread as it threatens the security, political, economic and social stability of the country.
The seminar, presented by Administrative Assistant Assistant Professor Dr. Oras Jabbar Sahim and attended by Dr. said Mustafa Hadi, included a statement of the efforts of the security authorities in preventing the proliferation of unlicensed weapons and how to deal with the relevant agencies, pointing out that the issue of restricting weapons to the state is one of the vital issues that contribute to enhancing security and stability in societies, enhancing national security, as well as reducing violence and crime.
