
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohannad Jawad al-Asadi, president of the University of Basra, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Nasser Samari Jafar, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra, the women's affairs unit, and in cooperation with the Department of Plastic Arts, organized an afforestation campaign entitled together to sow hope.
As part of the faculty's efforts to promote environmental awareness and increase green spaces, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the University's efforts to preserve the environment and improve its quality.
The campaign organized by the head of the women's affairs unit, Mrs. Khadija Shoukry Faisal, Dr. Afrah Khairallah LAF'tah, and the teaching assistant, Mrs. Ayed Abdul Ali, included planting a group of seedlings in the college garden, with the active participation of a number of Department professors, students and college staff, in a scene that reflects the spirit of cooperation and belonging to the academic institution, and emphasizes the importance of collective environmental work in creating a healthy and aesthetic university environment.
The organizers of the campaign stressed that this initiative comes within a series of activities aimed at establishing a culture of afforestation among students and encouraging them to contribute to environmental protection, pointing out that the college is continuing to adopt qualitative initiatives that serve both society and the environment.
