The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra is preparing to participate in the international "free art" festival in Qatar

As part of its continuous efforts to support the plastic arts movement and enhance its presence in the Arab and international art scene, the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra, Dr. Nasser Samari Jafar, met today with a group of students who will represent the faculty at the "Free Art" Festival, scheduled to be held during November 2025 in the state of Qatar.
During the meeting, they reviewed the nature of the artworks that the students will participate in, and stressed the importance of this event as a platform to highlight young creative energies and introduce the Iraqi artistic identity in regional forums. The dean of the College praised the efforts of students and their professors in preparing for participation, stressing that this experience will be a valuable opportunity to gain experience and open up to various art styles and schools.
The Faculty of Fine Arts has received an official invitation to participate in the festival, which is one of the most prominent cultural and artistic events in the region, where this year will witness the participation of hundreds of plastic artists, prestigious art galleries, and cultural institutions from various countries.
Dr. Nasser Samari concluded by stressing that the college's participation in such events represents an extension of its leading role in providing the artistic scene with talents, and reflects its keenness to build bridges of cultural and artistic communication between Iraq and the Arab world.
