
The College of Fine Arts, Basrah University, held an artistic carnival for students’ productions for the academic year 2020-2021, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani, Dean of the College.
The festival included displaying artworks, handicrafts, theatrical, musical and cinematic performances.
The festival was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Zaki Abdullah Ahmed, the assistant president of the university for scientific affairs, representing the president of the university. The festival was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdul-Amir Al-Moussawi, Dean of the College of Nursing, and a group of professors and students of the college.
Samples of different artistic works were presented at the festival, ranging from drawing, calligraphy, sculpture and ceramics presented by students of the Art Education Department, and a theatrical performance by students of the Department of Dramatic Arts under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Hazem Abdel Majid.
An introductory documentary film was shown, produced by the students of the Audio-Visual Arts Department, and directed by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Zahra.
The students of the Department of Musical Arts performed traditional singing bouquets through the choir ensemble, and the carnival concluded with a diverse exhibition for the students of the Department of Fine Arts in the Great Exhibition Hall, their productions varied between painting, sculpture and ceramics.
Ahmed praised the technical level of the students of the College of Fine Arts for the previous academic year and from various departments, wishing all students success in their current academic year.
