The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Fine Arts, University of Basrah, held a symposium on (Empowerment of Women in Iraq, University of Basrah as a model).
The symposium included a definition of the meaning of women's empowerment in the International Charter and its role in Western and Arab societies and since when did the trend towards achieving it begin?
The symposium discussed the role played by the presidency of the University of Basrah in empowering the university and college staff in women’s assuming the administrative and scientific role. As well as the role of Dr. Asmaa Samir, head of the Fine Arts Department, and her distinguished role in our college, as well as the positive role of teacher Inaam Salah El-Din in managing the Student Affairs Department, and the role of assistant teacher Hadeel Iyad in managing the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Fine Arts.
The seminar was attended by a distinguished group of students and teachers, most notably Professor Dr. Tahrir Ali
who praised his role on the positivity and the role of women in assuming administrative positions, as he mentioned the role of the honorable Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Al-Kinani, who encouraged women to occupy administrative positions in our college
The symposium aims to convey the positive and negative image of women taking up administrative work, as well as praising the role of the Dean and his support for women in our college and the role of the university presidency in supporting women greatly.
