The College of Fine Arts at Basra University organized a lecture entitled (The Practices of Crafts in Contemporary Arab Sculpture) presented by the teacher Mohsen Ali Hussein on Sunday 10/3/2019 at the Continuing Education Hall, with the participation of the Scientific Dean, Dr. Ali Al-Kinani, researchers, interested persons, and graduate students.

The lecture aims to shed light on the role of the letter in contemporary Arab sculpture by reviewing and studying a group of sculptural works by a group of Arab researchers.

The lecture included the identification of the importance of the Arabic letter as well as its historical path and characteristics of the letter as well as stylistic trends in the works of the letter in the art of sculpture.

The participants called for the adoption and publication of publications and posters in which the crafts are based on sculpture to demonstrate this important and effective role in art.
