The delegation of Basrah University in Japan headed by Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi and His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Japan Abdul Karim Al Kaabi visited The University of Chiba in Tokyo, and was received by Dr. Toshinori Nakyama, President of the University and a number of deans of its faculties, 
The two delegations held a joint meeting on ways of scientific cooperation and preliminary understandings to conclude a number of agreements in the field of scientific research and open the Japanese corner in The field of scientific research and the opening of the Japanese corner of the university and training courses and exchange of experiences and visits.
During the visit, a number of university buildings were viewed and renovated.
