The College of Arts participated in the memorial ceremony for the 24th anniversary of the martyrdom of Mr. Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr (may his soul rest in peace) and his two immaculate sons, through its Dean, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani, and Administrative Assistant, Prof. Dr. Hazem Abdel Majid, in the preparatory committee for the memorial ceremony
 University President Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi said in a speech at the opening ceremony, “Our commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Sayyid Muhammad al-Sadr after all these years is a clear evidence of the continuity of his blessed line.
The memorial ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani, and a group of deans of faculties at the University of Basra. The memorial gathering included popular words and poems that expressed the extent of loyalty to the late Sadr and a tribute to a group of teachers, deans and students for their prominent role in serving the academic community, and an exhibition of memorial photos that included the martyr and his children and followers of his school and an exhibition of his jurisprudential and legal writings and explanations of his seminary lessons
The staff of the College of Fine Arts and its director of services, Mr. Ziad Adnan, had a role in the preparations for the hall services and technical matters
