The teaching  at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra Prof. Dr. Sabbar Talaa Shabout issued a book (The Play in Modern Iraqi Literature) Basra as an option.

The book contained 3 chapters in which it dealt with the topics of theatrical texts in Basra - political, social, literary doctrines before realism, romanticism and expressionism, in addition to the elements of the play such as personality, dialogue and conflict.

The book includes about the theatrical productions of a number of the theater book in Basra and how to deal with the theatrical text

And because of the importance of the book, as it is considered one of the books that are concerned with the creators of theater in Basra, with a detailed explanation of the most important theatrical works, as well as the conclusion that is attached to a bibliography that brings together the book of theater in Basra
