The College of Fine Arts is holding the third edition of the Arabic Calligraphy and One Dimension Festival

Under the auspices of the President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision and support of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani
The College of Fine Arts, University of Basra, held the third annual festival of Arabic calligraphy and one-dimensional formation in the college's grand exhibition hall
The exhibition included more than 80 artistic manuscripts, with the participation of more than 38 calligraphers from Basra Governorate. The topics of the manuscripts varied between Quranic verses, prophetic sayings, poetry and heritage texts with different types of Arabic calligraphy models, including Al-Baghdadi Kufic - Naskh - Al-Raq’a - Diwani) and the embodiment of Quranic texts on sculptural forms. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani, in the presence of a number of calligraphers, students and teachers from the college and abroad.
It is worth noting that the festival continues for three days, and the first day includes the opening of the joint exhibition and the display of manuscripts. The second day is an open workshop for Arabic calligraphy, while the third day will witness the holding of a lecture entitled The Role of Arabic Calligraphy in the Consolidation of Islamic Identity.
