The division of continuing education, in cooperation with the Department of plastic arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Basra University, held a scientific workshop entitled ( operation of electric furnaces and the method of placing clay artifacts in the furnaces ) 
The workshop, which was conducted by M.Dr. Aliya Jabbar and presented by A.Dr. Ali Hussein al-Assadi and A.M.Dr. Roula Abdellah introduced the concept of the types of bricks used in the manufacture of furnaces, the heat-insulating layers that make up the construction of the furnace and the type of electric current used to operate it, and then touched upon the details of the furnace interior in terms of shelves and materials from which they are made and indicate the methods of maintaining the furnaces before and during use.
