
His doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra discussed the applications of Gestalt theory in the formation of postmodernism.
The thesis presented by the researcher Raad Abdul Nabi Jabara included plastic art, which is a creation of products with an action and practice characterized by emotional, subjective, psychological, spiritual, mental and cognitive, which is mixed with visual perception and sorts out everything that is creative and far from the real world, and since visual perception involves within the gestalt school, artistic products contain, through their interrelated elements, a total and sub-partial perception.
The thesis aimed to explain several concepts, including gestalt representations in the creative field, as well as gestalt approaches in the explanatory theories of creativity, as well as modernity, intellectual pressure, trends and styles of Modern Art.
The thesis concluded that gestalt knowledge forms a central focus that permeates the artistic products of the postmodern artist, since clairvoyance, understanding, perception and the organized whole constitute a threshold that rises from the elements of the pictorial surface.
