The Supervisory Committee of the media department and its affiliated units held its first meeting with the media units and their officials in all formations of the University of Basra in the presence of the chairman of the committee A.M.Dr. Ali Abdullah al-Kanani, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and members of the committee Dr. Dia al-fikiki, captain of Iraqi academics in Basra, and Mr. Hussein Jassim .
The meeting, which was attended by the director of media and public relations at the University of Basra, Dr. Talal Abdul Imam, discussed a number of issues related to supporting the University Media and finding ways to develop as well as listening to the most important obstacles and difficulties facing the University media work .the meeting pointed to the establishment of a number of courses and workshops related to the media aspect during the summer break in preparation for the next academic year because of the importance of these courses in developing skills for media professionals in various fields and doubling activities and events in the scientific, administrative and cultural aspects.
