A master's thesis at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra, discussed the aesthetic dimension of the representation of birds in contemporary Iraqi painting.
The message presented by researcher Marwa Ahmed khachn included the theme of birds, which are part of the culture of human society.they have appeared in myths and religions since the first civilizations. they have been a source of inspiration for the artist, who has been inspired throughout history by the shapes of birds in his artworks, starting with cave murals and temple columns and entering the Sumerian, Babylonian and Assyrian civilizations, which were decorated with the representation of birds.
The letter discussed the aesthetics of the representation of birds in the history of plastic art, starting from cave art and then the civilization of the Mesopotamian Valley and the civilization of the Nile Valley. Then the civilization of the Greeks and Romans and down to the arts of Islamic civilization and ending with the aesthetics of the representation of birds in modern painting.
The message concluded that the birds carry a spiritual content that contributes to highlighting the self-awareness that leads to the Supreme Beauty.
