With the direct support of the president of the University of Basra, professor 
Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra, assistant professor Dr. Ali Abdullah al-Kanani inspected the complex of halls of the Faculty of Fine Arts, which is expected to be completed during the current year .
 Al-Kenani was briefed on the progress of the project and the percentage of completion, which is proceeding at a regular pace and within the required specifications . The engineer supervising the project explained that the building will be delivered according to the specified deadlines and that the work continues with two meals and sometimes it lasts late at night .
 It is worth mentioning that the building will include a complex of classrooms in addition to a store and a club for teachers, noting that this building, after its completion, will be a link between the current college building and the building of the Hall (Marla), which officially joined the Faculty of Fine Arts, which contains the university radio, in addition to a hall for events and conferences as part of the expansion plan of the Faculty of Fine Arts buildings for the next academic year 2023-2024 .
