
The prime minister, Mr. Mohammed Shaya al-Sudani, received the president of Basra University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the rest of the university presidents and the advanced staff at the Ministry of higher education and scientific research in the presence of His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research.
He pointed out that higher education was the most affected sector during the wars, the siege, the occupation phase, the security situation and the fight against terrorism, indicating the importance of education and its link to the benefits of all fields and sectors, and its role in building society and the individual.
He pointed out that the priorities of the government program, based on a realistic reading of the needs of citizens, still need to be assigned to education, in all its details and plans, pointing to the national strategy for education for the years (2022-2031), which needs executive mechanisms to bring them into actual reality.
He also stressed the need to focus on the specialties that our economy and institutions need, and that universities should become an arena for solving real problems and developing systems in the field of governance, and solving the problem of expansion and exceptions that have negatively affected scientific sobriety.
