
His doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra discussed proposed sculptural designs for the entrances to the gates of government departments in Dhi Qar governorate.
The thesis presented by the researcher Mohamed Latif Mazid included the completion of proposed sculptural designs for the entrances of the gates of government departments in Dhi Qar governorate to achieve new expressive, cognitive, aesthetic, structural and functional dimensions that reflect the internal state of the building through the use of sculpture and its interaction with architecture .
The thesis aims to prepare proposed sculptural designs for the entrances and Gates of government departments in Dhi Qar governorate that reflect the internal function of the building in addition to achieving the aesthetic, expressive and structural aspect.
The thesis concluded that the work in the design of building facades and entrances is of great difficulty, which requires skill, knowledge and awareness on the part of the designer, and that the presence of sculpture in architecture, especially Gates, has its ancient civilizational extensions.
