Under the patronage of the president of the University of Basra A.Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, A.M .Dr. Ali Abdullah al-Kanani.
As part of the directives of the presidency of the University of Basra to open up to society and out of cooperation between academic institutions, the Department of plastic arts, in cooperation with the women's Empowerment unit at the College, participated in a voluntary initiative to paint and decorate walls at the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies.
The participation of the students and professors of the Department of plastic arts included the drawing of paintings with a marine theme, phrases and judgment under the supervision of the head of the Department of plastic arts M.Dr. Raed Hassan Shree and the lecturers Prof.M. Haider Karim and M.Ali Fouad and Khadija Shoukry Faisal are responsible for the women's Empowerment unit at the Faculty of Fine Arts.
