Under the patronage of the president of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Mohannad Jawad Kazim, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, assistant professor Dr. Ali Abdullah al-Kanani.
The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra-Women Empowerment unit in cooperation with the Department of Plastic Arts organized a symposium of women's representations in contemporary Mesopotamian and Greek art.
The seminar was presented by the director of the women's Empowerment unit at the college, Khadija Shoukry Faisal.M.Dr. Oras Jabbar Sahim and A.M.Dr. Ali touched upon the role of women in inspiring and influencing the arts, whether as a source of beauty or as a model of works of art, as she played a role in cultural and social life through participation in the arts and artistic performance.
The seminar aims to demonstrate the role of women in the advancement of ancient societies, including the Greek and Mesopotamian, as well as the common symbols of women in the Greek and Mesopotamian arts
