A master's thesis at Basra University examined the expressive and aesthetic values ​​of contemporary ceramics in Iraq and Jordan - a comparative study

The thesis presented by the student Atheer Ibrahim Idan included four chapters between the first semester, the general framework for the research, in which the research problem was mentioned, the importance of research and the need for it, the objectives of the research, the limits of the research, the definition of terms. The second chapter was devoted to the theoretical framework and it contained three topics Artistic through the ages, the philosophy of expression, artistic beauty, and contemporary ceramics in Iraq and Jordan (historical summary)

 The third chapter described the research procedures, which contained (179) ceramic works, and through the exploratory sample (20) ceramic models

 

The fourth chapter showed the results and conclusions, including, the use of colored solutions of Iraqi and Jordanian ceramics and the reduction of the use of direct glazing as clear tactile surfaces, in addition to the cross-fertilization of artistic diversity in texture, a component of aesthetic and expressive values ​​among some potters, and the effect of this began from Iraqi ceramics on Jordanian ceramics as well as the introduction of techniques with surface texture treatments.

The thesis aims to conduct a comparative study between the artworks of the State of Iraq and the artworks of Jordan, which include the aesthetic and expressive values ​​of contemporary ceramics.
