Under the auspices of the president of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Zahra Mohammed, the women's affairs unit, in cooperation with the student activities unit at the college and the elite team of Iraq, established an art bazaar entitled “master of the axis and the South”. The bazaar was attended by the administrative assistant for administrative affairs, assistant professor Dr. Oras Jabbar Sahim, in addition to a group of professors, associates and college students.
The aim of the bazaar is to highlight the artistic and creative talents of the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts, in addition to showcasing talents and handicrafts from outside the faculty, which enhances the artistic and cultural interaction between the university students and the local community.
The bazaar included a variety of works and handicrafts that reflect artistic creativity and its versatility, such as handicraft and handmade works, accessories, heritage crafts, Arabic calligraphy and Printing Works. The participants were creative in presenting their works in attractive and innovative ways, which attracted the attention of the audience and everyone praised the level of creativity and craftsmanship shown by the participants.
In this context, the organizers stressed the importance of such events in developing artistic talents among young people, providing a platform for communication and exchange of ideas between artists and the community, in addition to supporting local heritage crafts and reviving them through the younger generations.
This activity comes within the series of activities of the Faculty of Fine Arts and its dean to enhance the role of Arts in Iraqi society and confirm its lofty mission in supporting creativity, art and culture.
