Under the patronage of the president of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad al-Asadi, and the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Zahra Mohammed, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra, represented by the Department of Plastic Arts, organized the annual festival on the occasion of the Blessed popular births, within the framework of cultural and artistic activities that promote spiritual values and strengthen the connection with religious heritage.
The festival opened with a fragrant recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, as a reminder of their sacrifices for the sake of the homeland.
The festival also included speeches by the professors of the department and representatives of the Deanship of the faculty, during which they reviewed glimpses of the biography of the pure imams and the importance of popular births in the Islamic conscience.
The event witnessed the recitation of poems and songs in praise of Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) presented by university students, amid a festive atmosphere that reflects the importance of the occasion. At the end of the festival, certificates of appreciation and prizes were distributed to the participants in recognition of their active contributions to the success of the event.
