The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra organized the Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Department of plastic arts, a community awareness initiative entitled "No to.Khodrat, yes to life", as part of the continuous efforts of the College in supporting community issues and promoting awareness among community groups, especially the youth.
This initiative came under the supervision of Dr. Talal Abdul Imam, teacher Nourse Hamid and with the participation of a group of college students, who presented art posters, plastic panels and visual messages with awareness contents highlighting the danger of drug abuse.Anesthesia and its devastating effect on the individual and society.
The initiative aims to promote community awareness of the risks of HIV / AIDS.Through the plastic arts as an effective communication tool capable of influencing conscience and behavior, focusing on the role of youth in building a society free from this scourge.
It should be noted that this initiative comes within a series of activities adopted by the college to enhance its community role, and to emphasize the importance of activating the role of academic institutions in facing societal challenges through culture, art and creativity.
