Under the patronage of the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kanani, the College of Fine Arts at Basra University held a cultural event during which the teacher honored Raed Hassan Shri, a teaching staff in the Plastic Arts Department, who was responsible for supervising students in documenting victories. During the morning a critical discussion session entitled (The Use of Art in Documenting Victories) moderated by Dr. Mohsen Ali Hussein and presented by Dr. Azhar Inside Mohsen, in which he explained the role of art in documenting battles and victories, reviewing the opinions of thinkers and philosophers in this regard with the importance of documenting the events that peoples go through, especially with regard to With its fateful battles and victories, as it is considered an image that reflects societal aspects, which are exemplified by simulation theory in Greek philosophy and modern critical theories where work is employed as a result of movement of societal phenomena.

A biographical film of the teacher Raed Hassan was shown and a number of his artistic works were shown.

The session resulted in recommendations for artistic and cultural institutions to document and display artistic, cultural and heritage works, as they constitute the advancement of culture and the arts.

At the end of the session, the Teaching Dean, Raed Hassan, was honored with the College Shield, in addition to honoring a number of distinguished students and participants in the recently held exhibition
