His doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra "Body Memory and its transformations in the performance of the Iraqi theater actor".
The thesis presented by the researcher (Abdul Azim Hamad Mohammed) aims to highlight the benefit of the theatrical actor by drawing attention to the memory of the body as a pillar in the construction and development of performance.
The thesis included the topic of body memory as a latent energy in the actor's body that restores past experiences not automatically or repeatedly, but by reproducing them at the moment of theatrical performance in accordance with the requirements of personality, space and theatrical time.
The thesis concluded that the memory of the body is embodied by forming the central focus of the actor's performance in the theatrical performance because the body was not only a tool for the implementation of dialogue and movement, but was described as a cognitive and aesthetic structure capable of producing meaning and semantics as it froze the living record of trauma, fear, oppression and rebellion .
