In light of societal cooperation and the university’s openness to activities in the city and its support, the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani, inaugurated the women's exhibition (Optics 5) at Larsa Hall in Basra.

The opening of the three-day exhibition was attended by a number of artists, critics, writers, and those interested in cultural affairs in the city. Al-Kinani said that this exhibition organized by Al-Ghadeer Studio under the supervision of Dr. Hussein Abd Ali comes in light of supporting cultural and artistic activity in Basra and documenting artistic feminist activity. Al-Kinani added that it is a pleasure for the college to be part of this artistic movement and supportive of visual culture and plastic art in the city.
