Under the auspices of the president of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Mohannad Jawad al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Nasser Samari Jaafar, and in line with the directives of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research to start the anti-drug week, the women's affairs unit, in cooperation with the plastic arts department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, organized an awareness campaign entitled "University awareness is a shield against drugs".
The campaign aims to promote awareness among students of the danger of drug use and its psychological and social effects, in addition to its direct impact on the level of the university student and his academic and professional future.
The campaign, presented by Prof. Dr. Tahrir Ali Hussein, included a set of general recommendations to address this serious scourge and how to prevent it, in addition to the distribution of artistic awareness brochures designed in a style that combines plastic art and its symbols with warning messages addressed to young people about the dangers of drugs.
The campaign witnessed the presence of a number of faculty professors, staff and students, who praised the importance of these events in spreading awareness within the university community.
