Corona is the focus of the first international electronic puppet theater festival in Basra

The festival received many offers from Arab and foreign countries to participate in artistic activities in these countries

In Basra, Iraq, the activities of the first international electronic festival of puppet theater were concluded, which was organized over two days by the Department of Art Education at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra with the participation of Arab and foreign countries

Festival director Saif Al-Din Al-Hamdani said that the festival received many offers from many Arab and foreign countries participating, and that theatrical performances and activities were presented in interesting ways and were practical lessons in the various fields of dolls and brides

Among the performances, he won the award for best vocal performance in the festival, the Iraqi (Tigers) show, by the young theater director Abd al-Hassan Nuri Abbas (36 years), who performed with a distinctive voice the role of a parrot and a tiger in a unique presentation on the Corona virus and the forest

Abbas was used to producing live shows for children before the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, but he presented his participation in this festival via the Internet

The festival, which was organized electronically, attracted artists from 15 countries in the Arab world and beyond, such as Switzerland, Italy and Colombia

The main topic of the first edition of the festival, which was held on the first and second of June and broadcasted via the Internet, was the emerging corona virus and how to prevent its spread

The committee received more than 40 works that were presented to an international jury
