A master's thesis at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra examined the visual excitement of contemporary world ceramics.
The thesis presented by researcher Zeina Kassem Mohammed aims to explore the visual excitement in contemporary world ceramics from a critical and aesthetic perspective while studying the developments that have occurred in the form and significance in the light of cultural and artistic changes.
The message included visually arousing the recipient, which is one of the aesthetic strategies employed by the contemporary artist in ceramic practices through the introduction of unfamiliar materials and outside the traditional artistic context.
The thesis concluded that the use of ceramics as a means of visual narrative through the resort of some artists to use ceramics as a narrative medium and a philosophical tool to question multiple issues.
