The College of Fine Arts harvesting award of best Film directing

Dr. Sarmad Yassin, Head of the Department of Audio, Visual and Teaching Arts at the College of Fine Arts - Basra University won the award for best cinematography for his film (She Is White) at the Watan Film Festival held by the Al Furat Foundation in cooperation with the Iraqi Council of Ministers, which was held in the capital Baghdad for the period 8- February 9.

Yassin said that the film won the award for "best directing" among the 25 films participating in the festival from various parts of Iraq.

He added that the film titled (It Is White - War Begins Another) is represented by actress Rasha Raad, Ali Essam and artist Muhammad Ali, and directed by him.

Yassin stressed upon handing over the award to the Deanship of the College of Fine Arts ... that it is a matter of pride that the University of Basra, represented by the College of Fine Arts, reaps this important award, which is considered a historical achievement of the college that is recorded among its qualitative achievements on the artistic scene.

He added that the audiovisual arts department is one of the model departments at the level of colleges of fine arts and has talents from creative students worthy of attention and care, and the department is preparing for the Student Graduation Projects Festival in the coming months.
