The thesis presented by the researcher (Zahra Najm Abboud) aims to identify the semiotics of visual text between showing and hiding in contemporary Iraqi ceramics.
The thesis included a semiotic study of the visual text between showing and hiding in Iraqi ceramics, as an aesthetic and expressive system that contributes to highlighting the formal and symbolic values within the artistic achievement.
The letter concluded that this study introduced the concept of presence and absence in Islamic ceramics through a combination of vocabulary represented by Arabic calligraphy and turquoise color, which has an aesthetic dimension and significance in the Muslim psyche, as well as the golden color.
