His doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra was "displaced realism in contemporary international ceramic sculpture".
The thesis presented by the researcher (Mayada Mohammed Assi) aims to study the displaced realism in contemporary global dementia as an artistic medium that combines originality and modernity with a focus on its role in expressing contemporary issues.
The thesis included the topic of realism as an essential pillar in the process of cognitive displacement in plastic art and directed the great impact on the formation of the structure of the renewed aesthetic discourse in contemporary ceramics.
The thesis concluded that displaced realism represents an aesthetic strategy based on the imitation of the familiar realistic form of the vocabulary and moves it towards new interpretive spaces while maintaining the realistic reference of the form to ensure the recipient's connection with the work.
