Coinciding with the 54th anniversary of the founding of the University of Basra, and in order to extend bridges of cooperation between the university and society, Sheikh Sharif Salman Al-Obaidi, President of the Arab Tribal Parliament, Iraq Branch, honored Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kanani, Dean of the College of Fine Arts
 Al-Obaidi said that this honor comes out of our belief in good giving and encouragement for the loyal, and coincides with the 54th anniversary of the founding of the University of Basra.
For his part, the Dean of the College extended his sincere thanks and appreciation for this valuable initiative by the Federation of Tribes in the Arab Countries and the Presidency of Parliament, expressing his happiness and readiness for joint cooperation between the College and the Parliament of Arab Tribes, Iraq Branch, to achieve common goals in spreading knowledge and employing it to serve society
