A master’s thesis at the College of Fine Arts, University of Basra, examined metaphysics in contemporary Indian painting. The concepts of ancient peoples and religions whose spiritual and mythical character was active in them, if not the supreme authority over their ideas and beliefs.The thesis discussed Indian philosophical thought with its spiritual and mythological tendency according to the fate of man in the present and the afterlife. Therefore, Indian art was an influential element in the Indian intellectual and civilized system according to the formation of Indian painting on the non-traditional dimensions and references of spirituality and metaphysics.
The thesis aims to identify the manifestations of metaphysics in contemporary Indian painting
The thesis concluded that contemporary Indian painting and its dialectical relations between time and place, maneuvering spiritual thought and working on the concepts of pluralism and generation in line with traditions and spiritual features.
