The issue of scientific promotions is one of the most important topics due to its influential scientific dimensions that are not limited to faculty members, but rather extend to the reality and future of the general scientific and educational environment.
Academic promotion is one of the most important elements that play a major role in institutional and program building of educational institutions, and their development towards academic advancement, as most educational institutions pay great attention to reviewing scientific research and holding academic promotion committees for university professors.
The University of Kufa, under the patronage of the President of the University of Kufa (Prof. Dr. Mohsen Abdul-Hussein Al-Zhalmi) and the Deanship of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences / University of Kufa, organized a workshop on Thursday 15/2/2018 entitled
(Mechanisms of publication in international journals, plagiarism and quotation)
A group of professors from Iraqi universities and institutes participated in this workshop, and this workshop shed light on the importance of scientific research and scientific promotion for members of the teaching staff and its implications for achieving quality in higher education, highlighting the most important procedures and conditions that can be followed in this field, in relation to the specified time periods. To be passed and the number of scientific research to be completed.
This workshop also dealt with the reality of scientific promotion in Iraqi universities in terms of procedures, standards, problems and challenges, in addition to the quality and guarantee requirements that must be improved and developed for those conditions and standards so that the promotion becomes a tool to improve and develop the performance of a faculty member at the university, by setting specific value judgments For the activities and programs that a faculty member must undertake during each specific period of time in each academic degree to be accessed by using some measures so that through these criteria it is possible to judge the performance of the faculty member
The main objective of this workshop is to introduce professors and researchers to the mechanism of publishing research in international journals and specialized scientific sites. Avoid falling into the traps of malicious (fake) magazines. And identifying the problems and obstacles to publishing in sober magazines.
Where the lecturers drew a road map that facilitates the professors with a mechanism that starts with searching for the journal and ends with handing over the research to the specific journal, and the mechanism for dealing in the event of rejection or making amendments.
It also dealt with the topic of overcoming challenges for professors of humanitarian colleges in particular, in order to open the horizons of international magazines in front of them.
