The College of Fine Arts celebrates World Theater Day

Under the supervision and support of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani, the Department of Dramatic Arts at the College of Fine Arts, University of Basrah, organized a celebration of the World Theater Day, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kinani, and a large gathering of playwrights, academics and college students Fine arts
The ceremony opened with the playing of the national anthem and the speech of the Dean of the College, then reading the international manifesto for Theater Day delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Maher Abdul-Jabbar Al-Ketibati. The university choir troupe, in cooperation with the Department of Dramatic Arts, presented lyrical paragraphs from Iraqi folklore, followed by plays by students who presented performances that mixed between directing and physical techniques to produce a show that carried in Its folds are ideas that have overcome all the elements of ugliness and destruction and the search for aesthetic and intellectual elements

Where they presented a play directed by Prof. Dr. Seif El-Din Abdel-Wadood, on the value and authenticity of the theater for the student actor, and a play directed by Prof. Hazem Abdel-Majeed, about alienation and longing for the homeland represented by pain, a play Hamlet in the English language, presented by Professor Ali Al-Salihi, and a beautiful pause from Academic comedy theater presented by Dr. Abdul Latif Hashem
The conclusion of the ceremony witnessed the honoring of the professors and founders of the Department of Dramatic Arts by the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, led by Prof. Dr. Abdel Karim Abboud and Prof. Dr. Abdel Sattar Thabet Al-Baydani and Prof. Dr. Hassan Abdel Moneim Al-Khaqani
It is worth mentioning that the College of Fine Arts annually performs such performances on this important occasion in the theatrical scene, in which well-known theater pioneers at the local, Arab and international levels are recalled.
