A master's thesis at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra, discussed the parallel discourse and its embodiment in the contemporary Iraqi theatrical performance. 
The thesis presented by the researcher Saif Adi Abdel Wahab included the theme of the theatrical performance and what is distinguished by his intellectual, philosophical and artistic heritage and his ability to extract artistic elements.the artistic image of the show and its direct speech are not complete without the presence of parallel speeches that share in making the message of the show.
The thesis discussed the concept of parallel discourse in the structure of the theatrical performance by means of ideas and artistic elements, which runs conjointly and harmoniously with the public presentation discourse.
The thesis concluded that theatrical thought has a definite role in the management of the presentation system, the construction of scenes and dealing with them in a coordinated manner in order to highlight the philosophical value of the presentation.
