His doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Basra discussed the manifestations of pilgrims in the performance of a theatrical actor between the text and the performance.

The thesis presented by the researcher Hazem Adnan Abboud included the topic of pilgrims, which is one of the topics that formed an important mark in the language lesson and its effectiveness, verbal performance, because language is the basis on which the actor is based in producing the system of productive speech through the energy and effectiveness of acting performance.

The aim of the dissertation is to reveal the foundations of the pilgrims and the ways of manifesting these foundations through the written word (text), the perspective performance(acting) and the extent of interaction between the two in the formulation of theatrical discourse.

The letter concluded that the actor uses pilgrims in the theatrical performance as one of the techniques through which he tries to woo one of the opposing voices and build bridges of communication between him and the recipient.
