The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra-Women Empowerment unit organized a dialogue seminar on the topic of violence against women in the presence of a group of students and faculty members.
The seminar was presented by the director of the women's Empowerment unit at the college, Khadija Shoukry Faisal, in which A.Dr. Ali al-Asadi and the six M.Dunia Al-Hassan touched upon several axes, the most important of which are political violence, which generates wars between states and thus the destruction and violence of people in general and women in particular, as is the case in Gaza (their children are martyrs and their women are bereaved) and war violence against women, which is one of the most harmful types of violence because it generates social, political, economic, psychological, verbal and physical violence.
The seminar concluded with a set of recommendations to reduce the phenomenon of violence, including the activation of the community police law and more awareness programs and workshops.
