The Faculty of Fine Arts receives the first prize at the Sur International Film Festival

A student at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of audio-visual arts (Abul Hassan Kassem) received the first prize at the eleventh edition of the tyre International Film Festival for short films in Lebanon.
This award came for the film (An Ordinary Day), which was directed by the student (Abu al-Hassan Qasim) under the supervision of the teacher (Baha Al-Kazemi) within the requirements of the subject (directing for cinema).
The films participating in the official competition of the festival competed for the awards for the best feature film, The Best Documentary, the best animated film, The Best Actor and the best cinematography.
For this edition, the festival received the participation of (29) films from (27) countries, namely Saudi Arabia, Iraq, France, Iran, Syria, Bahrain, Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Palestine, Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Poland, Finland, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Oman, Zambia, Norway, Iceland, Spain, Argentina, the Czech Republic, Canada and Lebanon.
The jury of the festival included the Spanish director (Ana cinderero Alvarez), the actor (Omar Mikati) and the director (Salah Atwi) from Lebanon.
It is noteworthy that the film (An Ordinary Day) has already received the first prize at the Iraq festival within the activities of the Ministry of youth and sports, in addition to its important participation in the Sfax festival in Tunisia, as well as qualifying for the final nominations for the Emirates International Festival scheduled to be held at the beginning of next March.
