Under the supervision of the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, A.M.Dr. Ali Abdullah al-Kanani, as part of the mission of the University of Basra to open up to society, the Department of plastic arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra, organized a scientific visit to the palace of culture and Arts in Basra, represented by some professors of the department and students of the first stage of the C Division of the palace of culture and Arts in Basra .
A dialogue session was held on the heritage of the city of Basra, in which the director of the palace, Mr. Bassem Hussein Ghaleb, gave a detailed explanation of the heritage of the city of Basra, and pointed to the interest of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and antiquities to include elements of intangible heritage on the World Heritage List, preparations being made by the palace of culture to hold the first exhibition of handmade carpets and rugs, in addition to holding a number of heritage events during the holy month of Ramadan .
