The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra organized the women's affairs unit in cooperation with the Departments of plastic arts and audio-visual arts the free painting festival was opened by the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, assistant professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Abdul Thabet al-Baydani.
The festival aims to spread the spirit of artistic cooperation through handicrafts, ceramics and free painting. 
The festival included a number of artistic works carried out by the participating professors and students.
