Basra University wins first place in the Arab children's Theater Festival in Jordan

The University of Basra – Faculty of Fine Arts / Department of Performing Arts has achieved a distinguished Arab Achievement by winning the first place for the theatrical work "the rabbit and the Winter" within the activities of the Arab children's Theater Festival – the fifth session, which was held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the slogan "Give us childhood" for the year 2025. With the participation of nine Arab countries.
The theatrical work was marked by the performance and direction of the student Mariam Ahmed, who won the best actress first role award, in addition to receiving the Special Jury Prize and the best costumes award, designed by Ara Abdul Majid, under the supervision of assistant teacher Yasser Muthanna, and the implementation of sound techniques Abdul Aziz Ahmed.
On this occasion, the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Nasser Samari Jafar, expressed his pride and pride in this achievement, stressing that this victory reflects the high artistic level of the college's students, enhances the presence of the University of Basra in Arab and international cultural and artistic forums, and confirms its mission to support youth energies and highlight the role of theater in consolidating human and aesthetic values.
